Biking tracks and cycle trails

The Mackenzie region is a fantastic area for exploring by bicycle. You can enjoy relaxed flat trails alongside the canals to seriously challenging mountain bike terrain. Wherever you go you are surrounded by an incredible landscape – it’s hard to keep your eyes on the track!

Have a look at the new Tekapo Trails website for information or contact local cycling guru Annie at Bespoke Bikes.  She has a great range of very well maintained bikes and e-bikes to rent, plus an extensive knowledge of the Mackenzie/Waitaki trails. She also offers a shuttle service for both bikers and hikers – a treasure for Te Araroa Trail walkers.  Annie has also mapped the rides using Komoot which you can download for voice instructions as you go.
